Job Description:

Within CARE Surgery Center, we are ready to upskill an experienced kennel assistant or veterinary assistant. The daily responsibilities are:

Assist with the set up and break down of the operating room
Assist in sterile procedures by opening/unwrapping sterile packs & instruments and giving them to the surgeon or surgical assistant in a sterile fashion
Clean and sterilize surgical packs as trained
Assist in smooth transition between each surgery and/or consultation
Safe, low stress patient restraint for catheter placement and medication administration
Depending on age, assisting with radiographs, in accordance with legislation
Monitor and record vitals accurately for surgical patients in recovery
Perform tasks as trained

Dedication to veterinary medicine
Veterinary surgery interest and exposure
2 years experience working within a veterinary practice collecting vitals and reporting abnormal vital signs to senior staff
Willingness to learn and apply knowledge and skills into daily activities
Pride in own work
Ability to work in a cohesive team as well as carrying out responsibilities self directed
